Calvary Chapel Downey cited nearly a dozen times for pandemic violations
DOWNEY – Calvary Chapel of Downey has been issued nearly a dozen citations for failure to adhere to health officer orders, according to data provided by Los Angeles County.
While no information was given specifically as to what prompted the citations, the county’s COVID-19 homepage lists more than 10 instances linked to the place of worship and relative school, spanning from Sept. 6 to Nov. 15.
According to officials with the office of Supervisor Janice Hahn, an attempt was made by the Supervisor to provide the church with a tent – at least temporarily – so that worship services could be held outdoors to align with health protocols.
A call was placed to Calvary Chapel for comment, however, they did not respond in time for publication.
No other Downey schools, organizations, businesses, or places of worship are currently listed as having been cited.
