DOWNEY — Councilman Mario Trujillo will be the guest speaker at the Downey Historical Society’s meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 26, starting at 6 pm at the Barbara J. Riley Community and Senior Center.

Elected in 2020, Trujillo is an attorney and represents Downey’s District 5 (city-wide).

The meeting is free and open to the public. The historical society will have bricks available from the old Avenue Theatre which can be had in return for a donation to the society.

The historical society also announced the date of its annual luncheon: Saturday, June 18, from 11 to 2 pm at Sizzler.
