Crime Report -- Sept. 28, 2015
Thursday, Sept. 17:
At around 6:30 p.m., Downey Police Officers responded to Griffiths Middle School and contacted a man who was attempting to get into several classrooms and onto the roof of the school. At the conclusion of their investigation, the officers placed the subject under arrest for drunk in public and he was booked at the Downey Police Station. The subject’s vehicle was later found nearby crashed into a fence.
Friday, Sept. 18:
Downey Police Officers responded to the 8600 block of Springer to assist a victim who found one of his stolen ATV’s parked to the front of a residence. Officers found several other stolen vehicles at the location. The crime scene was later turned over to a regional task force for further investigation.
Saturday, Sept. 19:
At around 1:30 a.m., Downey Police Officers responded to the Anarchy Bar located at 13250 Woodruff in regards to subjects fighting. Three intoxicated adult females were arrested for being drunk in public. While still at the scene, a vehicle drove away from the bar and almost collided into a Downey police car. The male driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for drunk driving. He was booked at the Downey Police Station.
At around 4:00 a.m., a license plate reader notified Downey Police Officers of a stolen vehicle. Downey officers saw the vehicle, a Mercedes Benz, stopped on Firestone and Brookshire. Officers contacted the male driver, a 35-year-old South Gate resident, and arrested him for Grand Theft Auto.
Sunday, Sept. 20:
At around 1:00 p.m., Downey Police Officers responded to the Kaiser Hospital in Downey to investigate a 15-year-old male being treated at the hospital for a superficial gunshot wound. The victim told officers he had been shot in the City of Bellflower. Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputies responded and took over the investigation.
