5K run/walk honoring Ricky Galvez returns Nov. 17

DOWNEY — The fourth annual 5K run/walk honoring fallen Downey police officer Ricky Galvez will be held Sunday, Nov. 17, organizers announced Tuesday.

The run, organized by the Downey Police Officers Association and Friends of the Downey Police K-9 Foundation, will originate from the Columbia Sports Complex.

The event begins with on-site registration from 6-7 am and the national anthem at 7:15. The run/walk starts at 7:30.

Closing remarks are scheduled for 9 a.m., followed by vendor shopping from 9-11.

Pre-registration is $30 until Nov. 7; same-day registration is $40. To sign-up, go to racewire.com and search “5K for 5KING.”
