Downey 6U football team wins championship
DOWNEY – The Downey Razorbacks 6U team ended their 2021 season by winning the Southern California Youth Football Conference (SCEYFL-AAU) Championship over a previously undefeated team from Glendora.
The 6U team is composed of 5 and 6 year olds and the championship game was held in Woodland Hills.
The 6U team is coached by Rudy Juarez, Head Coach; Ramon Herrera, Assistant Coach; Sione Moa, Assistant Coach; and Ashley Olvera, Team Athletic Director.
Players include Rey Arriaga, Giovanni Barajas, Jordan Cabrera, Sebastian Duran, Alejandro Garcia, Ian Garcia, Julius Garcia, Victor Garcia, Maxwell Juarez, Matthias Mendez, Isaiah Moa, Matthew Mott, Robert Olvera, Aaron Partida, Tristan Rios, Nicholas Serrano, and Zavier Taylor.
The Razorbacks are part of the SCEYFL-AAU conference, which is composed of 30 member associations located throughout Southern California. AAU is a national organization and the largest youth sporting organization in the United States offering multi sports and activities.
Registration for the 2022 season will kick off on Wednesday, March 9, at the Parley Johnson House located at 7749 Florence Avenue.
