Downey Baseball Boosters

Downey Baseball Boosters held a dedication ceremony Friday to celebrate renovations made to the Yanez Baseball Field at Downey High School. The renovations were financed through a $33,423 grant from the Baseball Tomorrow Fund, a joint initiative between Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association. In addition to high school games, the new field will also host travel teams, tournaments and youth baseball and softball programs. "The Baseball Tomorrow Fund is honored to provide funding for renovations to Yanez Baseball Field," said Cathy Bradley, executive director of the Baseball Tomorrow Fund.
