Downey city attorney turns in resignation

DOWNEY — Downey city attorney Yvette Abich Garcia is the latest staff member to leave Downey City Hall, turning in her resignation today, officials confirmed.

Garcia has served as Downey’s in-house counsel since 2010.

She previously worked as city attorney for the cities of Barstow and Commerce.

Garcia’s departure is the latest at City Hall. Downey deputy city manager Aldo Schindler’s last day in Downey is Thursday, and city manager Gilbert Livas is leaving July 1.
