DOWNEY — There will be 16 “safe and sane” firework vendors selling fireworks in Downey starting Monday.

The vendors and their locations are:

• Downey Better Baseball at 251 Stonewood St.

• New Season LA Downey at 9001 Paramount Blvd.

• West Downey Little League at 7399 Stewart & Gray Rd.

• Job’s Daughters Downey at 10231 Lakewood Blvd.

• St. Pius X – St. Matthias Academy at 7851 Gardendale St.

• C.C. Foursquare Church at 8008 Firestone Blvd.

• Desert Reign Church at 7915 Florence Ave.

• Downey Free Methodist Church at 9245 Florence Ave.

• Downey High School Band Boosters at 8320 Firestone Blvd.

• Downey United Methodist Church at 7676 Firestone Blvd.

• Calvary Chapel Downey at 12808 Woodruff Ave.

• Dios Con Nosotros at 7502 Florence Ave.

• Warren High School Athletics Department at 8626 Firestone Blvd.

• St. Raymond Catholic Church at 12348 Paramount Blvd.

• WHS Music Parent Association, Inc. at 9001 Apollo Way

• Downey Rose Float Association at 9200 Lakewood Blvd.

Fireworks may only be sold between the hours of 10 am and 10 pm on July 1-3, and between 8 am and 8 pm on July 4. They can only be legally discharged July 4 between 3-10 pm on July 4.

Possession of illegal fireworks may result in citation by Downey Police Department. Citations begin at $2,000 for the first offense, increasing up to $3,000 for subsequent violations.
