Downey girls wrestling team takes first place in tournament

DOWNEY — Downey High School’s girls varsity wrestling team took first place at the Walnut Girls Invitational Tournament held Nov. 19-20.

The team also medaled individually and had three first placers, two second placers, one third, one fourth and one sixth place.

“Congratulations to the girls for their hard work and dedication,” the team said. “A big thank you to Coach Rios and Coach Adalpe for their leadership and preparation of the varsity team.”
