Downey police officers rescue two people after crash
DOWNEY — Downey police officers are being credited with saving the lives of two people after a fiery crash in Downey early Monday morning.
At around 1:45 a.m., a vehicle crashed into a watch repair store located inside a strip mall at Telegraph Road and Paramount Boulevard. The vehicle caught fire as a result of the impact.
Police officers pulled two people from the burning vehicle. They were transported to local trauma centers in unknown conditions.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Witnesses reported the vehicle was traveling up to 80 miles per hour immediately before it crashed.
