Downey teen wins dance competition

DOWNEY - Downey resident Jona Capino, a junior at Cornelia Connelly School, won first place in her age group in the intermediate solo category for her musical theater performance to the song "Wherever He Ain't" at he Revolution Talent Dance Competition held in Claremont last Feb. 16.Capino was awarded a scholarship to Starpower's Power Pak to be held in Orlando this July. She was also the first overall champion at the Kids Artistic Revue National Dance Competition held in Long Beach last November. She will represent Kids Artistic Revue of Southern California at the Los Vegas KAR Dance Competition this May.
