Entrepreneur extends hands to restaurants during crisis
DOWNEY - As the food service industry continues to try and endure the fallout of COVID-19, one local entrepreneur is extending a helping hand.
Vincent Quigg knows a thing or two about food delivery; his company Ghostro has been helping restaurants take advantage of the online delivery market for the past year.
“I had a unique opportunity to work with the founder of Uber and his new company,” said Quigg. “They launched what’s called Cloud Kitchens; they’re these warehouse kitchens that are delivery only. They’re usually in high density, high populated areas throughout LA.”
“I had the opportunity to work at that company and learn a lot of what it takes to build these online brands. Since then, I’ve started my own consulting agency - branding agency I guess you could say – in helping restaurants launch these brands.”
Now, as local businesses start to buckle under the pressure of anti-coronavirus social-distancing and stay-at-home mandates, Quigg has decided to step in and offer a little bit of help to those in his hometown.
“In light of everything that’s happening, I just figured that it’d be best to extend a hand to some of these restaurant owners who might be struggling with the technological burden of setting up all these delivery platforms,” said Quigg. “It can sometimes be a little daunting, especially for restaurant owners who are a little bit older-school and may not be apt to signing up to this type of technology.”
“I have existing relationships with all the delivery platforms, and I also have experience in how to make the delivery process from the restaurant end very seamless.”
Quigg is offering “one brand free onboarding" for any food creator in Downey needing assistance setting up accounts for all the major food delivery platforms. He will also set up a custom online link to allow restaurants to visit and upload their menus, allowing his team to take it from there as well.
The only cost would be for an optional low-cost tablet which would aggregate all orders together.
