Former Sears to be redeveloped into bowling, arcade center
DOWNEY – Round One Entertainment Inc. has submitted conceptual plans for the transformation of the former Sears store at Stonewood Center to a family-friendly bowling and arcade center.
The site is also expected to include Round 1’s Spo-Cha brand, where it will have a variety of indoor sport challenge activities.
Additionally, the plans call for a newer Round 1 concept that incorporates a food hall.
City officials have been proactively marketing the site, and attracting indoor and interactive family-friendly amusement concepts.
“We are excited to see Round 1 investing in the Downey community,” said Mayor Mario Trujillo. “The city has been working hard to fill the vacant Sears site with an amenity that all members of the family can come and enjoy.”
