Gaucho Grill refreshes brand, announces plans for expansion
DOWNEY — Gaucho Grill, the popular Argentine Steakhouse, has announced it is “refreshing” its brand with an updated menu and upscale casual atmosphere, including a dog-friendly patio.
The updates are in anticipation of a “major expansion,” according to a press release.
“Gaucho Grill’s value-conscious modern concept has consolidated ownership, contemporized the menu, updated the atmosphere, and is preparing for a major expansion with sights of taking on the biggest steakhouse names,” the press release said.
Partners Adrian Amosa and Kirk Cartozian opened the Downey restaurant in 2016. A second location in West Covina opened in 2018, and a third location in Buena Park is scheduled to debut this fall.
The menu boasts “bold flavor profiles of Argentine cuisine” including an entraña skirt steak, lamb and chorizo meatball, Mollejas grilled sweetbread served with chimichurri, and a Chilean sea bass sauteed in a hot clay skillet with wine chimichurri and mussel broth.
“The days of the old American steakhouse are becoming a thing of the past,” said Cartozian. “You won’t be getting unadventurous side dishes like Brussels sprouts, mac ‘n cheese, mushrooms and baked potatoes.”
