Larry D. Carr

September 19, 1939 - February 18, 2024

Larry D. Carr, 84, died February 18, 2024, at a Lynwood hospital. He was born September 19, 1939 in Danville, Illinois, the son of Walter Benjamin Carr and Gertrude Ellen (Collins) Carr.

Larry graduated from Bell Gardens High School, class of 1959. Following graduation, he served in the United States Army from 1962-1965. Larry married his second wife, Marlyne (Lawson) Carr in 1986 and they settled in Downey, CA. They celebrated 37 years of marriage as of last June. In 2023, Larry marked 50 years as a Freemason. He enjoyed gardening, wood carving, and anything football.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers and his first wife Patricia. He is survived by his wife, sons Benjamin and his wife Debrah, and Kevin; brother Jim and his wife Brownie; daughters Tracie (Chrisco) Aguilar and Tiffanie (Chrisco) Laird and husband Anthony; and ten grandchildren: Marck, Breelyn, Riley, Melissa, Emilee and her husband Mitch, Allison, Julieanna, Grayson, Brayden, and Alivia as well as two great grandchildren: Layne and Mikaela.

Larry was laid to rest in Tulare, California on February 27, 2024.
