Letter to the Editor: Yes, Downey is ready for pot

Dear Editor: 

The front page headline of the June 22 edition of The Downey Patriot asked, “Is Downey Ready for Pot?” To this, one should reasonably answer, “Downey was born ready!” 

Downey already has lengthy experience with liquor sales, tobacco sales, junk food sales, night clubs, hookah lounges, abortion clinics, oversized residential and commercial construction, tattoo shops, Section 8 housing, and drug rehab services. New frontiers are a part of Downey’s natural progression, so it is not entirely unexpected or unreasonable to hear that it could officially move toward free syringes, bikini bars, pawn shops, pot dispensaries, strip clubs, swingers’ clubs, and the Church of Satan. 

Thank goodness Downey’s sisterhood with the Irish County of Roscommon can guide us through.
