Police plan DUI checkpoint Friday night
DOWNEY — Downey Police will conduct a DUI checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Downey this Friday, March 29, from 8 pm to 2:30 am.
“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” Acting Chief Scott Loughner said. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improves traffic safety.”
Drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties.
