DOWNEY — Sign-ups and sponsorships are now being accepted for the Ricky Galvez Memorial Golf Tournament, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 2, at the Rio Hondo Golf Club.

Presented by Gangs Out of Downey, the tournament raises money for college scholarships presented to Downey students in Galvez’s memory.

Galvez was killed Nov. 18, 2015 in a robbery outside the police station.

Registration is $200 for a single golfer and $800 for a foursome. Sponsorships range from $125 for a tee sign to $5,000 for a corporate sponsorship. Tickets to the awards dinner only are $50.
