Warren High student arrested for online threat
DOWNEY -- A 16-year-old boy enrolled at Warren High School was arrested after posting a photo of an airsoft gun on social media and implying violence, officials said.
"At this time we believe the student acted alone in the threat and had no direct intention of carrying out the threat," Downey Police said in a statement. "Warren High School has been advised and school will be in session as scheduled."
The boy posted the image to Twitter, where it was forwarded to DUSD staff over the weekend. Downey Police were notified at 8:05 p.m. Sunday and arrested the boy.
Classes continued at Warren High on Monday with extra security on campus "out of an abundance of caution," officials said.
