It is with profound sadness that the family of William Fredrick “Ebbie” Ortmann announce his peaceful passing on Wednesday, May 29 at the age of seventy-eight years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son and daughter Bill Ortmann and Junie Ortmann of Downey and his son Cody Ortmann of San Jose and Josh Ortmann of Houston. Bill is survived by grandchildren Michael, Alex, Noah, Savannah, Joseph Ortmann and great grandson Bryce Tong as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Big Bill and Peggy of Suva Street in Downey and siblings John and Don.

A 1964 graduate and football star of Downey High School, Bill never strayed far from his roots favoring to be near his family and many friends. “We will always carry the memory of your joy and your smile in our hearts.”

At his request a private service will be held in Yosemite National Park over the summer. A celebration of life will be held in Downey on Sunday, June 9th.
