R&B legend Dionne Warwick performing in Cerritos
CERRITOS — Six-time Grammy Award winner and musical icon Dionne Warwick will her all-time greatest hits at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, Sept. 28. Tickets start at $60.
Discovered by Burt Bacharach and Hal David in 1961, the music legend has earned legions of fans and countless awards with more than 100 million records sold and 75 chart-topping hits, including “Don’t Make Me Over,” “Walk on By,” “Say a Little Prayer” and “Heartbreaker.”
She’s been nominated for 14 Grammys and won for the hits “Deja Vu,” “That’s What Friends are For,” “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?” and “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again.”
A recipient of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, she was the first African-American solo female artist of her generation to win the prestigious award for “Best Contemporary Female Vocalist Performance.”
In 1985, Warwick recorded “That What Friends are For,” which became a No. 1 hit worldwide, raising awareness and major funding for AIDS research, which she continues to support to this day.
Warwick’s recent album is “She’s Back” and she just wrapped up a Las Vegas residency at the Jubilee Theater at Bally’s hotel.
