'Wicked' making Pantages Theatre return next year

HOLLYWOOD – “Wicked,” the wildly popular Broadway sensation, will return to the Pantages Theatre in December 2024 for a limited engagement, theater officials announced Monday.

“Wicked” will be included in the yet to be announced 2024-25 Broadway in Hollywood season. Current season ticket holders with renewable packages will have instant access to “Wicked” when they auto-renew into the new season.

“Wicked” is the winner of over 100 international awards including a Grammy Award and three Tony Awards. It has been seen by nearly 65 million people worldwide and has grossed over $5 billion in global sales.

“Wicked” looks at what happened in the Land of Oz but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin, who is smart, fiery, misunderstood and possessing an extraordinary talent.

When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships, until the world decides to call one “good” and the other one “wicked.”
